Course Overview
Our German language courses include a complete range of adult group courses for all levels, from absolute beginners up to advanced students. Some of our intermediate and advanced students study for international examinations provided by Goethe Institut.
Our courses use methods and materials especially prepared for children and teenagers and their respective ages.
We place a strong emphasis on students’ speaking skills. We also encourage students to tell us if they need any special vocabulary or material for their work or studies.
Course Standards
Our German courses follow the standards specified by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. These standards ensure that we can support French Language certifications that ensure that each student has the expected levels of listening, reading, speaking and writing.
Below, we summarise the language ability expected at each level as defined by the CEFL standards.
You have the ability to communicate and exchange simple information
You can begin to express yourself when in familiar situations
You can express yourself in a limited way in familiar situations and begin to deal with nonroutine information.
You can now deal with more situations and express yourself on a range of topics
You are now communicating with an emphasis on how well it is done and the ability to deal with unfamiliar topics.
You can now process material that is academically or cognitively demanding and your level of language would be more advanced than a native speaker in certain aspects.

Private Lessons
Note that although these are for individuals, if you are a couple or there is another friend wanting to learn French at the same time as yourself, we do a 2 for 1 discount.
These run from October to June and are structured according to the 6 levels of language proficiency in the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
