2. Use of the website

You may use the Website for personal, non-commercial purposes. You must not use it in a way that damages, disables or impairs the Website or interferes with its use by others, for example by sending spam or automated requests through our forms.

When you submit a review, you confirm that it reflects your own experience and does not contain unlawful, offensive or advertising content or personal data of other people. By submitting a review, you allow us to publish it on the Website and to translate it into the other languages of the Website. You can ask us to remove your review at any time.

3. Information on the website

We take great care to keep the information on the Website accurate and up to date. Course dates, prices and other details may, however, change, and occasional errors cannot be ruled out. The binding details of a course or lesson booking are those confirmed to you by us in writing (e.g. by email) at the time of booking.

News from other websites that we show on the Website (RSS feeds) is provided by the respective source; we have no influence on its content.

4. Courses and lessons

4.1 Booking

You can book courses and lessons by email, by phone, via our contact form or in person at our school. A contract is concluded when we confirm your booking in writing (e.g. by email). Group courses take place online, at our school or both, as stated in the course dates.

4.2 Prices and payment

The prices shown on our Fees page apply at the time of booking. In addition, an enrolment fee of €20 is charged, and students pay for their course books where required. Course fees are payable in full before the start of the course by bank transfer or at the school. We are exempt from VAT under Art. 9 of the Portuguese VAT Code.

4.3 Private lessons

Private lessons must be cancelled with at least 24 hours’ notice; otherwise the lesson is charged in full. If two students have private lessons together, both need to cancel; for a private group of three or more students, all students need to cancel. Sets of lessons can be interrupted at any time and continued later [within a period of … months after booking].

4.4 Group courses

Group courses take place with 4 to 8 participants. If a group course cannot take place, e.g. because too few students have enrolled, we will inform you as early as possible and refund any fees already paid in full, or offer you an alternative date or format. If a student cancels a group course more than 7 days before the start of the course, we refund the course fee minus the enrolment fee; later cancellations are not refunded.  Missed group lessons cannot be made up or refunded.

4.5 Right of withdrawal for bookings made at a distance

If you are a consumer and have booked a course or lessons by email, phone, via the Website or otherwise without being physically present at our school, you have the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days without giving any reason, in accordance with Portuguese Decree-Law No. 24/2014. The withdrawal period is 14 days from the day the contract was concluded.

To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us (Centro de Línguas de Lagos, Rua Dr Joaquim Tello, 32, 1º esq, 8600-583 Lagos, Portugal, info@centrodelinguas.com, +351 282 761 070) of your decision by a clear statement (e.g. a letter or email). It is sufficient to send the statement before the withdrawal period has expired.

Effects of withdrawal: we will reimburse all payments received from you without undue delay and at the latest within 14 days from the day we received your withdrawal, using the same means of payment you used, unless expressly agreed otherwise. If you asked us to begin the course or lessons during the withdrawal period, you must pay an amount proportionate to what has been provided until you informed us of your withdrawal. If the service has been fully provided at your express request during the withdrawal period, the right of withdrawal no longer applies.
